What is Meowy Cat Shelter?

Meowy Cat Shelter is located in Balil Pulau, Penang Malaysia. It was set up in September 2014. The objective of the shelter is to home helpless cats and kittens. Such as handicapped, blind, pregnant cats that are once someone pets and unable to survive on their own on the street.Kittens where mummy cats was cull or caught by the council or abandoned by owners. At present the shelter can take in 150+ cats and kittens but now unable to sustained anymore. Due to recent exercise where more cats are been caught most of the kittens are left to fend for themselves.

How shelter grows in 2 years+ ?

First cage was built on September 2014 which can housed 20 cats only.

Second cage was built on June 2015 which can housed 40 cats.

Third cage was built on December 2015 which can housed 40 cats.

January 2016 shelter had 3 big cages that can housed about 100 cats.

For Roof Over Their Head..

It is not enough.. Cats are being kept in cages most of the time.

A big enclosure was plan.. End of February the construction of new enclosure take place..

Construction completed in mid March. 

Now all the furkids had a place where they can play!

There are lack of educator to educate people on TNR .. (Neutering and spaying) . A lot of kittens abandone can be avoided if their pets are being neuter when of age. Shelter in serious need of funds .. monthly about 50 cats and kittens being surrendered or rescued to the shelter. Lack of funding cause Shelter unable to take in more  injured cats and kittens even it can home 200 cats and kittens. Cats that recovered unable to find homes.
